Statement
As an artist, I aim to express life. I hope to capture the elements that can move and transform us.
Whether in abstract or realistic forms, I want to tell the story, capture the magical moment and thus transform
our consciousness.

Let us walk in beauty …

Bio
Seda Saar’s original, abstract fine art paintings are created using a skillful combination of applying and removing acrylic paint, reflective films, acrylic sheets, and collages of mediums on canvas. Her inspirations are the expressionistic aspects of light in Nature and the built environment. Saar’s emotional abstractions radiate a life of balance and positive energy between man and nature.

Born in 1961, Teheran, Iran, and raised in United Kingdom, Seda Saar now lives and works in Los Angeles.
She grew up in the beautiful city of London, where she graduated in Interior Architecture, from London Metropolitan University.
In 1982, Saar moved to the U.S. following her family. After over two decades as a creative environment designer in themed entertainment design producing & conceptualizing restaurant, retail, and show-set designs for major Hollywood studios such as Disney and Universal, Saar decided to return to fine arts incorporating works in diversified mediums of painting, sculpture, and installation to express her award winning work.
In 2000 she began intensive training in oil painting attending workshops in US, Europe, as well as her ancestral land of Armenia. She studied every summer for a decade with Armen Atayan the legendary teacher who taught at the famed St Petersburg Academy in Moscow as well as the Yerevan Art Academy.
Although Saar continues to paint with various mediums, she enjoys technology, creating works with the digital brush as well as fine art photography, experiential design and installations. She has also designed many theatrical stage sets as a member of Open Gate Theater in Pasadena. She has curated iconic exhibits as the director of a local environmental gallery, (MLY Gallery: Art for Change- 2011-2014), producing artists documentary films, and showcasing international and local talent: Andy Warhol, Harry Gesner, Eric Lloyd Wright, Mary Wright, and many others. Her own works have been presented in various solo and group exhibitions in local and international galleries and art fairs, and are collected throughout the United States, as well as Canada, United Kingdom, France, Japan, China and UAE.
Filled with with color and motion, her works cast a playful interaction of color and light.“I have been focused on art all my life. It makes me optimistic, full of energy and happy. The vivid colors of nature as well as the built environment, shine with energy and light. They intrigue and inspire me to create every day, as I believe art can reflect our desires for beauty, poetics, wonder and connection to something greater than ourselves.”
